This was a tour of Salford MBC, 70% of which was off-road. From Salford Crescent station the route went along quiet streets to the Irwell Sculpture trail at the "Prestwich Forest Park". This continued over the M60 along an abandoned railway to Radcliffe. Here we picked up the abandoned "Bury, Bolton and Manchester Canal". From Kearsley to Walkden we took to the streets and then picked up another abandoned railway which led to the Bridgewater canal. This crossed over the "Manchester Ship Canal", through Trafford Park and past the Manchester United football stadium. The towpath became inaccessible for the last 3km forcing us onto the streets to finish at Manchester Piccadilly station.
