This was my first ride with Amir and Phil who both have rather nice road
bikes so I had to work hard to match them on my knobbly tyred mountain
bike. At Dean Row we manged to get separated and Phil went off on his
own to Alderley Edge village unaware that the intention had been to ride
up the steady climb via Mottram St Andrew to the 'Edge' at Alderley. Having
re-established contact we paid for this mistake with a steep climb to
get back on track.
The ride travels mostly through the quiet lanes of East Cheshire passing
a few very attractive villages (and pubs) on route. The mid point at the
Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope proved to be a nice spot for lunch.
