This short ride takes in some very tough terrain. The ascent out of Langley is very steep and progresses onto Charity Lane - a 'technical' ride - through to the highest point of Macclesfield Forest. A further ascent to the 'Cat and Fiddle' pub is followed by a crossing of the moor on a bridleway. Our intention had been to carry on to 'Three Shires Head' where the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire meet but this was cut short when the pedal crank became detached on one of the bikes. A temporary repair was needed to enable a careful return on easy lanes back to Langley.
