| This is a rural route within a heavily urbanised
area. From Piccadilly station we followed the Ashton canal towpath to its
junction with the filled in branch to Stockport. This is now a good cycle
path which intersects with the old southern loop line - now a tarmaced cycle
route. At Chorlton a short street section brought us to the river Mersey
with its towpath all the way to Stockport. |
