A cold day with plenty of snow and ice on the ground. I followed some teenage boys on the short cut to number 3 but quickly decided that the path run was a better option for me. I took the safe route to number 8 but I now know that the direct line would have saved me about 4 minutes. Coming out of control 11, I thought I had arrived at the north-south track so turned to the right and it was only when I looked at my compass that I realised my mistake and turned back. I needed to hunt around a little to find number 13 which was situated behind a bush from my position.
